African Institute for Investment Studies

Independent Think Tank aimed to improve Investment Environment in Sub Sahara African Countries.

We aim to foster long-term macroeconomic stability and promote more vital institutions in Sub–Saharan Africa to increase domestic and foreign direct investment (FDI).

Background

Poverty reduction, job creation, and sustainable economic growth require strong domestic and foreign direct Investment. However, in many developing countries, especially in Sub- Saharan African countries, challenges such as infrastructure gap, high political and economic risks, low labor skills, underdeveloped financial systems, and Governance issues, squeeze investment activities.

The widespread poverty in developing countries requires an inclusive growth to unleash inclusive development. The lack of inclusive institutions jeopardizes political and social stability and increase investment risks.  Policymakers in those regions should implement inclusive institutions to ensure political and social stability which improve investment climate.

African Institute for Investment Studies (AFRIIS) would strive to address the stated challenges above to boost domestic, foreign direct investment in Sub- Sahara African Countries.
